FORENSIC LIGHT EMITTING DIODE (LED) LIGHTS

Inexpensive yet very economical LED flashlights from TEKTITE are available from Optimum Technology. Originally made for divers, these flashlights are waterproof, therefore suitable for chemical or biological decontamination.

LED flashlights are available as 19 LEDs, 40 LEDs and 60 LEDs. They are made of ABS plastic, and powered respectively by 3 x ‘C’, 4 x ‘C’, and 6 x ‘C’ batteries that last 3-4 hours in continuous mode. Optimum Technology keeps in stock blue (470nm) and white flashlight.

TREK BLUE (470 nm) LED LIGHT

The blue flashlight (470nm) is suitable for general crime scene examination with capability of good detection of semen, and various traces that may be found at a crime scene. They are very good for excitation of fluorescent powders and cyanoacrylate developed prints stained with basic yellow 40, or ardrox. Blue LED lights can be used in conjunction with orange goggles (orange filter) for viewing (recording) of fluorescing evidence at the crime scene.
